I’m extremely passionate, with a thirst for knowledge, I specialise in hair colouring & continue to educate myself in the latest techniques. I love giving deluxe treatments like facials & pedicures! I love my career choice & always look forward to meeting new people, getting to know them & advising with any concerns they have. I have worked & travelled overseas which was an amazing, beneficial experience, one ill never forget!

I’m Emma, a Hairdresser & Beautician, qualifying in 2006 at Level 2 & 3. I offer all aspects of Hair & Beauty at Shades, what I feel I’m best at is Foiling & Cutting, its where I feel most comfortable and I feel its where you can see proper change to a person - a good cut and colour! I love meeting & chatting to people, I’m a good listener but can also advise my clients to ensure the best results! I’m a Wife & have 2 children whom I love spending quality family time with!

I qualified in Level 2 Hair & Beauty in 2009 at Leek College, I then started at Shades where I completed Level 3 in Hairdressing & Mens Hair. I enjoy all aspects of hairdressing especially foiling, I specialise in Hair Extensions, which I absolutely love doing. I am married & we have a little girl together, I enjoy family walks with our dog, meals out & socialising with friends. I like to meet new people & love being apart of the Shades team, were all great friends

Since qualifying in Hair & Beauty in 2001, my career has taken me on quite a journey, I’ve worked at numerous salons and been self-employed, it wasn’t until I started Shades in 2013 that I felt I had reached a point in my career where I could finally get to where I want to be. Not only am I lucky to work alongside fabulous staff, I’ve made lifelong friends! I enjoy doing restyles, colours, cuts & love doing bridal hair & being apart of someone’s special day. I have a daughter who shares a keen interest in this industry already. Who knows, maybe she will be apart of our team one day.

I’m a Fully Qualified Beauty Therapist. I offer all aspects of Beauty, my favourites being, facials, waxing & nails! Recently I qualified in Micro Needling which I get so much satisfaction from, bringing confidence back to my clients by making them look & feel their best. I’m a huge animal lover, my dog Buntie is my best pal, we go walking all the time. My favourite food is Cheese haha. I worked in Australia for 6 months dog sitting alongside working in a Beauty Salon, I love holidays & a good night out with my girls

II started Shades in 2018 whilst I studied my apprenticeship at Newcastle College, completing Level 2 NQV in both Womens & Mens hair. I found enthusiasm & passion for Mens hair in which I now Specialise in! I also furthered my career in recent years into becoming a qualified Lash & Nail Technician. I am always open to expanding my knowledge into other fields in this industry in the future to. I love socialising with the girls from work, I love 80’s music & going on road trips with my boyfriend and dog!

I’ve been at Shades since 1979 & seen lots of changing fashions in the Industry. I still love to perm & permanent straightening is a progression from that which I enjoy. I have met people from around the world working at Shades & love hearing tales of their salon experiences abroad. I thrive on making my clients as comfortable as possible. As a mum of 3 & Nannie of 5, I can also relate to our youngest customers. I’m a baker who enjoys crafting, reading & walking - all the mature things, but I’m young at heart & enjoy every minute of working alongside my amazing colleagues!

I’m the owner of Shades Hair & Beauty, until a few years ago I worked alongside my lovely team, but due to shoulder injuries, I now still enjoy running the salon from the side lines. Having these girls around me helps the salon to run seamlessly, so if you’re usual stylist/therapist is away, there’s always someone here to do your treatment until they return. My philosophy is that the client is the most important person in the salon, its worked for over 45 years so ill not be changing it now!
